Jay Lee

Hello. I’m Jay. I’m was born and raised in Korea and have been teaching Korean in Bulgaria since 2016. I also taught Mathematics, Science, and English in South Korea for 8 years.

 

I mostly gave private lessons to teenagers, and worked in private institutes in South Korea. I work as a freelance translator as well, whenever projects come up.

 

I got one of my bachelor degrees in Biomolecular Engineering from Ajou University in South Korea, and the other one in Biomedical Engineering from S.U.N.Y (State University of New York). I discovered my talent in the sciences early on when I became the runner-up in biology in the National Science Competition when I was in the Jeonnam Science Highschool, in Naju, South Korea.

 

I’m a native speaker of Korean. My fluency in English came from studying in U.S.A. for a long time. Currently I am studying Bulgarian intensively because of my dear wife who is Bulgarian and our cute son. I also love traveling and learning about different cultures.

Soyoung Jeon

faculty, majoring in Violin. I’m currently doing my Master’s degree. 

I have experience teaching Korean. I enjoy teaching and speaking Korean and I’m  eager to support students who’d like to learn Korean. When I teach my students, I try to listen to them well and sympathize with them. My hobbies include cooking, gardening and walking. In addition, I love listening to k-pop.

Mina Lee

Hi, I’m Mina and I’m a Korean teacher at Tj Center. I’m a native Korean speaker with a bachelor degree in theater and a specialization in teaching pronunciation.

When I was 20 years old, I studied English in Ireland and developed my curiosity about other cultures and languages.

After graduation I have worked at the National Theater in Seoul for 6 years and I will have my second bachelor’s degree in the winter of 2021, in Korean language education for foreigners.

I love to go to museums and theaters, and I have traveled to over 80 cities in 25 countries.

I want to share Korean culture with my students. I’d like to talk about things like K-dramas, K-pop, and Korean movies.

I live in Paris, the city of art with my French husband.

Irina Sholeva

a master’s and a Ph.D. degree in Korean Studies(Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language) from Ewha Womans University. I also have a teacher’s certificate, issued from the National Institute of Korean Language. I’ve spent around 6-7 years in South Korea as a student so I can tell you a lot about the higher education system in the Republic of Korea. I’ve been learning the Korean language for more than 10 years now.

My philosophy about teaching is that it should be a fun and interesting process for the student. That’s why I try to integrate a lot of games and fun activities when teaching.

I am also interested in Korean webtoons and Korean movies, as well as Korean literature and history.

Hitoshi Tsunekawa

Hi. I’m Hitoshi and I’m Tj Center’s native Japanese teacher. My interest in teaching and the differences between Japanese and European languages led me to start tutoring in 2012.

 I’ve been a teacher in Switzerland at a Japanese school with more than 300 children as well as a private tutor there. Last September, I arrived in Bulgaria, ready for new adventures. I’ve continued teaching here in Sofia with the same passion and joy. My motivation is fueled by speaking with students who are interested in learning the language and culture. In addition to this, I’m a musician and I play the horn. In my free time, I also enjoy learning new languages and watching movies.

Ayano Sato

Hello!  My name is Ayano. I come from Japan and I teach Japanese at Tj Center.  After living in Germany, Holland, Switzerland, China, Lithuania, and here in Bulgaria, in several years I 

 will be outside of Japan longer than in Japan.  Because I am outside of Japan, I love Japanese history and folklore and also Chinese ancient cultures, especially philosophies.  I have a lot of experience in learning a new language, so I would like to suggest many ways for you to learn Japanese.  I have a diploma from Germany and a Masters from Switzerland in musical performance with oboe instruments, as well as a diploma for historical interpretation practice in Germany.  Music is my job but I have many hobbies.  I would be happy to talk about otaku culture with you.

Kyoko Morooka

I have lived in different countries like Germany and Bulgaria, so I like to talk about the differences in life and culture in each country.

I play an instrument called the bassoon in an orchestra.

Yukiko Ito

Hello. I’m Yukiko and I’m Tj Center’s native Japanese teacher. I graduated from Rikkyo University (St. Paul University) in Japan, where I studied Arts, Psychology and English.

Currently I work at Tj Center, as well as the Ruse State Opera in Bulgaria as a dancer. I speak English and Japanese and I’m learning Bulgarian. I have taught Japanese for 2 years.

Diana Vassileva

Hello. I’m Diana and I’m a Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” graduate with a bachelor degree in Pedagogy, majoring in Pedagogical consulting. I teach Bulgarian to foreigners at TJ Learning Center 

and for the last 5 years I’ve been writing book reviews for the biggest literature website in Bulgaria – Az Cheta. For the last 7 years I’ve been teaching English to children and adults as well. I’m currently an English teacher not only at our center, but also at the Professional School for Electronics and Automation.

I have valuable experience in kindergartens, elementary schools, and with children with special educational needs, problematic children in different institutions, and general psychological work with children.

My school major was Arts and History. I also speak Russian and Greek, and for the last year I’ve been studying Korean. My love for Asian literature, movies, TV shows and music led me to be a valued lecturer at the festival for Asian Culture “Aniventure” for two years in a row.

I love drawing and reading, especially scientific literature. I hope that through my work in TJ Learning Center I can help more people open their hearts to Korean culture, more foreigners to integrate easily in Bulgaria, and at the same time change people’s perception about children’s educational needs.

Yoanna Aleksandrova

Eli Milosheva

I studied English Teaching and Finance at the National Changhua University of Education for my bachelor’s degree. After that, I pursued my exchange student’s and master’s studies at Seoul University, South Korea, and The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.

During my years studying abroad, I met classmates from different countries and gained experience in teaching Chinese to them. I also have an interest in Chinese literature and linguistics, which turned out to be helpful to understand the history, origins, and changes of the Chinese language.

I’m  passionate about introducing Chinese or East Asian culture and history, and would love to share my favorite Chinese songs especially from 2000-2010.

I’m also a proud graduate of the magnet high school Bergen County Academies: Academy for the Advancement of Science and Technology in Hackensack, New Jersey, USA.
I’m a native speaker of both English and Bulgarian, growing up in the USA in a Bulgarian family. Korean is the language I’m working on now because my dear husband is Korean. Living on 3 continents has led me to find one of my passions in teaching foreign languages. My other passion is everything related to art.
